27 weeks

27 weeks marks the beginning of the 3rd trimester. I can't believe it. Time is going by so quickly...Baby T will be here before we know it.

He/she is over 2 pounds now and is around 15 inches long. The baby is kicking all the time now. In fact, this morning Shawn was telling me when he went to bed last night, he figured the baby was running in my belly because it was kicking and punching out so much. Funny thing was that I was sleeping during that, I had no idea! I seem to be able to sleep through it...when I wake up to go to the bathroom, that seems to wake the baby up and it'll kick for a bit but then we'll both get back to sleep fairly quickly!

I'm still feeling good, not tired yet but all the books say that's coming soon. I'm feeling short of breath off and on all day now which is a pretty annoying feeling. I take a deep breath but it doesn't feel like a deep breath...if that makes any sense.

Anyways, we're doing well, getting the baby's room ready and gathering things that we need. This weekend I'm taking a baby First Aid course so that should be pretty helpful and then next week we have a Budgeting for Baby class at the hospital.

Hope everyone is doing well and remember, we love reading the comments so please keep leaving them!

I thought it would be funny to repost this picture...this was at 13 weeks and I really thought I had a little belly. So crazy!! What's even crazier to think is that in another few weeks, I'll probably look back to this week's picture and think my belly is small!

More baby stuff!

My boss was nice enough to give us these items:

And I was able to find a playpen for super cheap, second hand. Although, they don't call them playpens now. It's a playard. Same exact thing though!

26 weeks

Baby T is now almost 2 pounds. He/she is opening his/her eyes (this would be a lot easier if we had found out the sex at the ultrasound!). All 5 senses are developed now. He/she can recognize my voice, but also Shawn's, if he's been talking to the baby. Which he is! We've also been reading to him/her.

Bending over is getting difficult now. I'm feeling good though besides some backaches now and then. I've been getting regular massages though (from my massage therapist AND Shawn, so that helps). No extra fatigue yet but we're almost into the 3rd semester where I've been warned it returns with a vengeance. Also, I'm already noticing I can't eat as much...it's like there's not as much room. So instead of bigger meals, I just eat every hour or so!
Check out the pictures...looks like I'm hiding a basketball under my shirt! Don't mind the 2nd one...my belly is red from scratching, it's been itching me like crazy today.

25 weeks

15 weeks left, just over 100 days to go...it's hard to believe, it seems like just yesterday that I was 15 weeks pregnant. Baby T is kicking like crazy now...he/she is super active between 7-8am. I'm visiting Chels in Yellowknife right now so I've been treating myself and sleeping in...but the baby has other ideas!

Baby T now weighs 1.5 pounds. When he/she kicks, we can poke back and the baby will actually feel us and interact with us. Pretty neat!!

As I mentioned before, I'm in Yellowknife right now. It's been a really nice and relaxing visit. It's quite pretty here, as you can see:

And now for the belly pics, I've been growing a LOT in the last couple of weeks:

Kicks

Now I'm really feeling Baby T move around and kick me. It's hard enough to wake me up! Last night we were watching a movie and he/she was kicking like crazy and Shawn could actually feel it from the outside. Then he put his face to my belly and he/she kicked him in the face. HA!

23 Weeks

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a safe New Year's Eve. We had a pretty quiet night in comparison to years before. We went to Brian and Sherry's (our aunt and uncle) and met up with Marj and Steve (our other aunt and uncle) there as well. We had lots of delicious appetizers and fondue for dessert, chatted and then watched Wall-E (sp?). I really don't usually care much for animated movies but this is a REALLY good movie and I highly recommend it for anyone. I think it's been on many critics Top 5 of 2008.

Baby T is now a full pound and is about 11 inches long, or 8 inches if you measure from crown to rump. He/she has fully developed eyebrows and is working hard at gaining weight now. I'm no longer sure at all if it's a boy or girl. I was sure it was a boy. Now I just have no clue. Guesses?!

My old pre-pregnancy shirts are starting not to cover my belly so much. This poor hoodie might have to be retired in a week or 2!

It's hard to believe I still have so much growing to do because already my belly seems big to me.
