31 weeks

Time is still moving quickly, too quickly! Only 9 weeks to go. I'm still feeling sick off and on all the time now and that has definitely not been fun. It was one thing to deal with it when I was nice and skinny and had no other symptoms but when you add it to being a whale, not moving quickly, not sleeping well, it just seems like too much! People still like to pretend they don't notice that I'm pregnant while I'm on the bus. The other day I had to ask people TWICE if someone wouldn't mind giving up their seat. It was hard for them to pretend not to see me OR hear me but eventually someone caved.

Baby is 3.5 pounds now. I'm leaning more towards girl. But what do I know? You'd think I'd be able to sense what it is since it's in my body. But nope!
My belly is HUGE. It constantly feels like it's stretching, like I can feel it getting bigger. It's the weirdest and not the most comfortable feeling. The baby is super active off and on all day and I don't mind that part one bit, it's reassuring every time the baby moves, even if it's in the middle of the night!

30 weeks

30 weeks...10 weeks to go! It's so hard to believe, time is going by so quickly and we're feeling a bit unprepared...and we'll admit it...scared!! It's all very exciting but scary too. I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and will then lay awake worrying about labor and pain and how I will handle it.

Baby T is 3 pounds now. I'm sure other cool things are happening but it's 9pm and I'm too tired to remember what I read in my book this morning. So that's all the info I have today! I'm going to the doctor every 2 weeks now and I had another check up today and all is well. Heartrate was 142 today which is still in the "girl" range.

That reminded me of a funny story. When we were in Vancouver last week, Chels texted Shawn to tell him that she had a dream that the baby came early and that it was a boy. Except Blackberry likes to auto fill texts and it said "bot". So when Shawn told me the message, he only knew that she had a dream that the baby came early and that it was a robot! So funny! So he texted back that if it was, he would teach it how to fetch him beers and to play drums for his band. When I talked to Chels when we got back, she was asking about Shawn's weird reply about all his plans for our baby boy!!! Too funny. Anyways, I had a dream a couple of weeks ago that it was a girl so I am now thoroughly confused and have no idea at all.

29 weeks

29 weeks...getting closer and closer! This past week saw the return of my morning sickness. And just in case I need to remind anyone...the morning part was a myth...it can come or go at anytime. The other night I actually woke myself up because I had thrown up in my mouth. Super classy! Besides that, just the normal complaints...it's getting tougher to move around, breathe deeply and be comfortable. But those are pretty minor complaints and they're all worth feeling the baby kick and move around.
Right now we're in Vancouver visiting Papa Jim, Jill and Ashlie. We got here last night and so far have had a really nice visit. We went for a walk down by the beach today, weather is fantastic...a mild +7 with no snow at all and everything is green. Awfully tempting to move here!!
Baby T is 15 inches long, about the length of a loaf of bread and getting closer to 3 pounds.

28 weeks

Now the baby can open its eyes and even blink. He/she is slowly gaining weight and is about 2.5 pounds now and close to 16 inches long.
We went for our monthly doctor's appointment today. It went well, found out that I passed the gestational diabetes test but have very low iron. I have to start iron supplements and increase iron in my diet...meaning more red meat, more spinach, etc. I also found out that combining iron sources with dairy stops the absorption of iron. I have a glass of milk with dinner every night so that will have to change.

Baby's heartrate was 150 today...still in the "girl" range if you believe old wives' tales! I'm measuring right smack in the middle of normal and I've gained more than enough weight. To be honest, that's probably where I'm doing the best! I can't believe I'm posting this but I've gained 28 pounds so far...that's about 4 pounds more than "average" at this stage of the pregnancy. I'm chalking it up to the fact that I was pretty scrawny to begin with so I deserve a little extra!!
