39 weeks

Well, the thrill of being home, unemployed with nothing but free time has lots its luster. I am extremely bored now, tired of waiting and getting crankier by the day. I know the baby will come when he/she is ready but I want that to be now. I'm tired of being pregnant and just want to meet our baby.

Here are a few shots from the photo session we had with Pat, the girl who did our engagement and wedding photos. They were done at 36 weeks.

38 weeks

Nearing the end now. I've gotten so swollen in the last couple of weeks, I actually had to take off my wedding and engagement rings this week...and it was VERY hard to even pry them off. Now I'm wearing a cheap band so I don't get judged! I'm starting to run out of things to do now so I'm getting really ready to meet our baby. Last night at our prenatal class, 2 people had their babies since the last class. Super exciting! Both boys.

This is what I see when I look down:

37 weeks

Patiently waiting...
This was my first week off of work and it was more work than my actual work was! I've been getting stuff done that I've been wanting to do for awhile...washing windows, did a million errands and got some last minute baby things for the room, did some staining on the baby's room, applied for EI, did our taxes, etc. But the best part is I can do all that and still have a nap in the afternoon!

36 weeks

Well, I'm now officially full-term. I could go into labour at any time and the baby will be ready. Very exciting! I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and I was checked and I'm 1 cm dilated. This doesn't mean that much, I could be 1 cm dilated for the next 5 weeks and be overdue but the doctor did say it's better than me being closed! I now go to the doctor every week to keep a closer eye on things.
I had a lovely baby shower last weekend that Sheena threw me. It was fantastic, all my wonderful Calgary girlfriends attended and the baby got lots of good stuff...laundry hamper, diaper caddy, great books for the library, sleepers, bibs, towels, blankets, etc. I also got a spa gift certificate for me, YAY!

The other day I also got a VERY generous gift from a co-worker...a new digital camera!! He knew that we had a crappy original one but couldn't justify spending money on a new one so we were just going to make due. This was very unexpected and so great...people are really overwhelming us with their generosity. We are so lucky to have such amazing people in our lives.

Last weekend, Mom and Bill also visited and spoiled the baby rotten. We got a beautiful oak high chair that will convert in to a regular chair to add to the furniture, a bumbo, sleep sacs, blankets, stuffed animals, and I could go on and on. We are getting closer and closer to having everything we'll need for Baby T's arrival.

Today is my last day of work. I've been looking forward to it for so long now and today I woke up with mixed feelings! I've been here for 5 years and never been gone for longer than 3 weeks at a time (and that was for the wedding/honeymoon)...normally it's a week here and there. So it's weird to think that come Monday morning, I won't be getting up to come in. At least for another 13 months or so, depending what we decide to do at the end of the maternity leave.

Let's see, what else...lots to report this week apparently! Papa Jim is coming for an unexpected visit this weekend which is great. He is flying in on Saturday and then Tuesday very early he leaves to drive back to Vancouver in a new TDI as a promotion for Volkswagon to show you can get from Calgary to Vancouver on one tank of gas. It'll be good to see him so soon after our last visit, normally we only get to see him once a year!

Last weekend we also got to see Barb who was down for a convention. Lots of visiting happening lately!

What else...prenatal class last night was good. We've been told so many times by so many people that the classes are useless but we're finding them SO helpful. It's just nice to know what to expect, what our options are, etc. Last night we went over pain management, what medications are available, the possible benefits and risks, etc.

My apologies for the rambling email, I'm trying to write it at work and people keep coming in and chatting. Here's the HUGE belly this week:
