This past month, Samara:
-is eating well. She'll actually eat something from all the food groups most days which is still shocking to me after months of dealing with a picky eater.
-went back to sleeping well, thank goodness. I know my sleeping nights are numbered and I'd like to soak them up for as long as possible.
-started walking backwards on command. She has also jumped a few times but only I have witnessed it (Shawn has his doubts I actually saw both feet leave the ground but I did!).
- now has about 150 words. Some of the latest include: cheers, thanks, garbage, clean, push, pear, smile, all aboard, giraffe, supper, song, snack, dark, piggyback, couch, painting, coffee, window, boat, porridge and helping.
-has started putting words together to form sentences. Some include: good girl, there you go, thank you, all done, you do? and trick or treat.
-started saying Daddy instead of Dada. She still calls me Mama but I'm thinking Mommy isn't so far off. I have mixed feelings on this...it means she's growing up, how much longer before she calls me Mom instead?!
-is giving Eskimo kisses. The best are the little sound effects she puts with them..."nee nee nee nee". She has also started squeezing us back when we hug her.
-says "ouch" when she hurts something. If she weren't actually hurt, it would be the cutest thing ever. Oh who am I kidding, it's still super cute if she bonks her head and then rubs it and says "ouch" in a pissed off voice.
Favorite things this past month:
-being our helper. She loves helping us unload the dishwasher, close doors, feed the cats, wipe up messes, put away groceries, etc.
-having a dance party. Daddy moves the kitchen table out of the way, cranks the tunes and they let loose. I use my pregnancy as an excuse to lay on the couch, watch them and giggle.
Things I never want to forget:
-how she loves me playing This Little Piggy on her toes. She'll take off her socks and then run up to me, sit down, wiggle her toes and say pease, pease, pease? I'll start and then she'll get too ticklish for me to finish and then run away. She'll repeat this a dozen times.
-how she loves for us to count for her to do something. She'll point at us with 1 finger and say, "ooooonnnnneee" and then we have to go "twooooo, threeeeee, go!!!!" Then she'll run off and do whatever activity she was in the middle of.
-the kisses she gives herself. She loves looking at herself in the fireplace reflection and going mmmmwwaahhhh and giving her reflection a big wet one. She does this in any mirror you'll let her too. I've made peace with the fact that I will never again have streak free, print free mirrors in the house.
-hitting the deck. When Shawn leaves for work, she goes to the window to wave at him. When he sees her, she hits the deck to hide, bounces back up and repeats. It's so funny to watch!
