Halloween Recap

Samara wakes up to discover that Daddy has bought pumpkins! She loves them and must have them on the floor at all times. She calls them nana...which is the same word for banana and her Nana so not sure if she gets it or not!
She loves the pumpkins so much that the next day we get her a miniature one from a local farm/cafe we go to with Mom and Bill. She carries it with her everywhere and spends the entire day lifting it in and out of her shopping cart, giving it to people and taking it back.
Our little ladybug! I found the costume for super cheap at a consignment store. At the size of 6-12 months, it's still too big for this almost 18 month old!
Not a big fan of the hat.
Ha! Success...hat off!!
We took a little break with the costume off and then put heavier layers underneath. Samara had a complete meltdown (FULL SCALE) and we wondered if maybe we weren't rushing this trick or treating thing. But like good parents, we pushed through even though she didn't want to wear her costume and made her go anyway!

Riding in the wagon, still teary-eyed.
The first couple of houses she was very confused about what was going on. She just wanted to stare at all the other kids.

It didn't take long before she was a pro though. It was seriously so much fun. She walked around shouting "OOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!" at everything. She would say "drick or deat!" and "dank you" at every house (sometimes after the door had already shut and we were walking away).
What a happy girl when she uncovered her stash and what we had been up to the whole time. So happy that when the party was over and it was time for bath and bed, a full tantrum erupted. She escaped while Shawn was drawing her bath and was downstairs begging for more chocolate. There is no doubt who her parents are!!We ended up with 24 kids. Not much more than our biggest year at our old place in Calgary. We had WAY too much candy (I honestly thought we'd get close to 100). Shawn was the hero of 3 kids who came around 830. They each got probably 25 pieces of candy!

Here's a cute video of Sam trick or treating:
