2010 Review

2010 has been a jam-packed year. Looking back at all we've done, gone through, accomplished...well, it's making me even more tired!

Some of the things that happened to us this year:

-We renovated our basement in our Calgary home to get it ready to sell. I do not recommend doing renovations when you have a toddler!

-We put our home in Calgary on the market. We endured MANY showings and open houses in 45 days and 1 sale that fell through before selling. I do not recommend trying to show and sell a house when you have a toddler!

-We moved to Lethbridge as a result of Shawn's promotion within Rogers. I do not recommend moving when you have a toddler!

-Samara learned how to crawl, walk and talk. She changed right before our very eyes from a baby to a toddler and broke our hearts just a tiny bit in the process.

-I got pregnant! 9 months later, Presley Colleen Tompkins entered the world after 9 hours of labour on November 23 and changed the life we knew. Now, almost 6 weeks later, we struggle to recall how life was without her. She completes our family.

-Shawn and I remain DEBT FREE! (minus our mortgage, of course). I can't tell you the freedom this gives us. It feels amazing to know everything we have is ours...not ours in 12 months or 3 years or once the Visa is finally paid off, etc. One day our mortgage will be paid off too and then we will truly be free!

-I spend the year being a SAHM (stay at home mom). It has been an amazing journey for me, one that has taught me incredible patience, understanding and humility. I'm still learning every day and am so very thankful to have this opportunity. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
