How many times have I posted about cloth diaper problems? Too many, I'm sure. The problem has always been leaking, leaking and more leaking. The latest lovely addition was the powerful stench of ammonia...which in case you didn't know is about a million times worse than just smelling like pee or poop.
I recently just stripped the diapers half a dozen times, including doing it exactly like the makers of the diapers emailed me to do. I started using the diapers again yesterday and 2/3 diapers leaked. When Shawn went to get Samara this morning he said the stench of ammonia almost knocked him out. What am I doing wrong? This is ridiculous. I've tried 2 different detergents, different inserts, doubling inserts, changing the elastic sizes, washing more, washing less, stripping, etc. We've spent a LOT of money on these stupid diapers and just recently bought Presley her own stash. I'm about to lose my mind.
I think it might be time to toss in the towel.

But at the same time sorry you are having such a battle with them.
Your level of commitment is admirable. I wish you would throw in the towel. Dealing with the guilt of giving up on them and getting over the expense has to be easier than dealing with your frustration, which isn't likely to end anytime soon.

I'm with Jan and Catherine. Enough is enough - let someone else suffer! Plus, London Drugs allows coupon stacking and so I often get free or very close to free diapers.

Yea Tash, I'm gonna gree with everyone here. Toss these suckers out. It is 100% NOT worth your frustration. I wouldn't worry about the expense because your happiness & sanity is MUCH more important.

What brand do you have? I use AMP and haven't had much of a problem with leakage, but most people I know who cloth diaper have stink issues at one time or another. Vinegar and baking soda workes for me.I feel so bad for your struggle! I have had a few issues with mine, and it irritates the hell out of me, the issues you are having would push me over the edge. Seriously though, which brand? So I know to stay away from them!
