Family Traditions

Here at the T house, we have a Sunday morning family tradition. Every single Sunday, without fail, Shawn makes us blueberry pancakes (or, as Samara calls them, "nanakes"). And let me tell you...if you're not lucky enough to have been here on a Sunday morning, they are THE most perfect pancakes. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully fluffy on the inside. They are so yummy that sometime around Thursday afternoon I start to crave their deliciousness. One tradition we're going to start when the girls are a bit older is to have a weekly game night. Even though I hate playing board games. Ahhh...the things we do for our kids!

Do you have a weekly family tradition?

I LOVE board games and game nights. Have you ever played Cranium? They have a kid's version of it, and it's great....there's drawing, charades, clay sculpting (well, in the adult version there's charades...not sure if it's in the kid's version). It's SO fun!

We don't have any traditions yet, but I think a weekly game night is a GREAT idea :)

Great- lots of board games over the years to be played-Monopoly,Fish,Yatze(sp?)Ithink My mother played solitaire while we were supposed to be doing our homework or chores.shawn and Wade played Battleship at my place-still have it in my collection and then Axis and Allies-watch out for kids debating the rules of war until 3:00AM

We have a few traditions that we have started around the holidays. As far as everyday stuff, nothing like weekly blueberry pancakes. Though I think we should.

Recipe please!

We like to go out for pancakes. It's gotten to the point where when we drive by Rickys Chicken says "hey there's the restaurant; we going for pancakes"!

I love board games so I'm super stoked to have games night too when the boys are old enough. I think Chicken is close to being able to play Candyland so I'm excited for that!

I'm big on family game night. I love board games, though. I can't wait to instill traditions.

DH and I do proper breakfast on the weekends, eggs, bacons, hashbrowns. We'll continue as long as the kids will let us.

wow, those are beautiful pancakes.. and I wasn't aware pancakes could be beautiful! haha

Cole and I used to do Sunday brunch at a pub near our house in the city. We went ever Sunday and always got the same thing. It got to the point where the servers knew us by name and asked if we wanted "the usual!"

I cannot wait for us to have family traditions with Hadley.. especially going to look for and cut down a Christmas Tree!

My husband's version of family games night would be on the PS3. No family traditions yet for us either, but as the boys get older I hope to have some!
