- The signs are popping up everywhere...I think Samara is almost ready for potty training. What is your #1 tip/suggestion/warning/bit of advice when it comes to successful potty training?

- Presley's birth club buddy
Nyana is undergoing surgery to get a g-tube inserted today. Please send positive thoughts her way!

This was Samara's sleep at Presley's current age. I'd say Presley is trying to beat it (and not in a good way).
- Samara's latest favorite video
here.
- Tomorrow would have been my doggy's birthday. She's been gone now for 1.5 years and I still miss her.

With Tristan around 18 months I started putting him on the potty at the same time every day, every two hours. Now he tells us when he has to go and it fully potty trained. Also I cut out nighttime cups and he is waking up dry. At first it was 6am, 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm ect.
My biggest potty training tip...wait until your child is interested and ready. Then pick a time when you are also ready. If it gets stressful for you or the child - let it go and revisit it at a different time. It isn't worth making it an awful experience...spring and summer when you can run around outside and you have less clothing to deal with is ideal. Find what motivates your child..stickers, m & ms or nothing!
I love that phonics video. I will show it to Henry.
mini m&ms!!
Bribery is fantastic... Mom of the year, right here!
I have potty trained 5 kids. I have one rule. If it isn't over and done with in 5 days then she isn't ready. Do not waste your time. When they are ready they will do it when you tell them it's time to do it. Otherwise you're just torturing everyone.
Do reward (whatever she's in to and not edible) for pee. Give two for poop and take away reward if they have an accident.
Five times i did this and 5 times it worked. Good luck.
enjoyed watching Samara s new favourite video-sounds like Shawn singing without his punk rock voice
Just went thr photos of Samara s first Christmas-just wish I had a vidoe of her playing music with you and Shawn- my hands were busy holding her up to play piano with you
Cute pics on potty training- got no advice except guess you all get to discuss when you are going to potty to role model-there is also running water ways
Gavin "trained himself". One day he just sort of clicked and decided "Okay Mama, I'm going to use the potty now" but he had to use the "growed up" potty, not the small plastic kind, or the insert. We used lots and lots and lots of praise re how smart and grown up he was and how happy we were. He was nearly 3, but it was easy! Every kid is different though!
Soother. I know that one all too well - Evvy doesn't get one.
No tips, I'm a potty training failure!!
We had a rough sleep last night too - boo!! How is Samara sleeping lately? Back to good?
I have absolutely no potty training advice, clearly. I am going to remember everybody else's tips though! And UGH, sleep...that schedule of Samara's just made me cringe - and Presley is trying to beat it??? Again, UGH!
My daughter is 2 years old and was always allowed in the bathroom with me so she had a good idea of what was going on. She was super excited to use her own potty and in two weeks time has gone on it at least once a day. She even tells me when she has to go, which is awesome.
Ew, Samara's sleep schedule is making me feel ill (and acting as great birth control). Makes me glad we never introduced a soother - at least I did something I feel good about!
Really? The little buggers know how to keep a soother?!? I've been duped.
I've been ignoring the potty training. Why? Because I'm lazy. Please keep me motivated and we'll do this together!
