Potty Training Breakdown

As I mentioned here, Samara is potty trained. YAHOO! Potty trained before the age of 2, great success! How did we do it? We used The Potty Boot Camp Method. Click here to visit The Potty Boot Camp.We have the e-book and followed the steps fairly closely (with a few modifications when we could see something wasn't working). It's extremely involved and lots of work but 90% of the training is completed in the first day. By the end of Day #1, Samara was initiating pee AND poop visits to the potty. Unlike many other methods, we don't reward her with stickers or candy after every successful visit either. I really, really recommend it.

This is not to say it was a breeze and that we didn't have our challenges...Day #3 I wanted to run away from home. That's where this post came from! We made the potty so much fun with books being read, puzzles being done and very dedicated one on one attention that she wanted to camp out on the toilet all day. We managed just fine on Day #1 and #2 because Shawn was home from work. Day #3 posed a problem when I was trying to continue training and manage a 4 month old on my own. I spent a LOT of time in the bathroom. Samara and Presley both spent a LOT of time in the bathroom. I even breastfed multiple times on the bathroom floor. Heck, I even breastfed lifting Samara on and off the toilet, wiping, washing hands, etc. I now consider myself the queen of multitasking!

*I wasn't paid to write this review. I just really liked the method and found it to work well for us. Hopefully it works well for others starting out as well.

I checked out the site and it says they will be night trained too. Is she?

My oldest was trained in a week a little after 2.

I am not even ready to consider my son yet. Bwahahaha.

Way to go Sammy. I don't want to even think about potty training two at once. With working parents. Good thing we have a couple years to go still (or less, look at how young Sammy is!).

Seriously, you remind me of Liv Tyler's character in Empire Records. "My daddy says there's 24 usable hours in every day." I wish I knew how you do it.

Oh, and a HUGE congrats to all three of you for the big girl toilet.

I am TOTALLY gonna have to check this site out! Thank you for sharing. I want to potty train my 20 month old son (who is acting ready) but I was feeling very anxious about doing it with my 3 1/2 week old...but we have a big bathroom so if the 3 of us have to spend a lot of time in there, then so be it. LOL I've already nursed in the bathroom myself while bathing my son. I'm now considering myself quite the multi-tasker, too. ;-)

(found your blog through Sarahs'--Life of a Laid back Mama).
