Friday Night Leftovers

- I cut myself off of Facebook for a week. I found I was on it WAY too much. Presley's birth club has a group on there and I'd catch myself ignoring the girls while having conversations on that board. It was hard at first because it was such a habit to check in every time I had a spare minute. I'm really hoping that the break did what I wanted it to...keep my priorities in order. I love Facebook for what it is...but it is not nor will ever be nor should ever be more important than my family!
- Samara had quite the injury earlier this week. She grabbed my curling iron (I was right beside her and yes, I feel awful about it). It was fairly traumatic for both of us. It blistered quite badly and now the challenge is to keep her from picking at it. She likes to inform me while she's picking, "NO picking! No pick!"...at least I know when she's picking.
- Bedtimes for Sammy suck lately now that it's light out so late. Do I keep fighting it or just let her go to bed later? Or is it time to drop the afternoon nap?
- Just this week, Samara has started being completely terrified of loud vehicles when we're out walking. She will climb up us if we're not quick enough to pick her up. She is absolutely petrified. She has also developed a fear of certain men. We'll be at the grocery store and she needs to be held NOW. I have no idea where this came from because she's generally been a fearless child so far.
- That's a lot of bullets about Sammy this week. So...
- Why is it when Presley spits up and I have her in the wrap facing outwards (so I can't see her face), nobody feels the need to tell me? This has happened a couple of times at a playgroup...with other moms! Do they not notice? Are they strangely embarrassed for me?
- For more leftovers, head over here.

Amazing all the stages little one's go through. I've had a similar thing when Pj spits up and no one says a word. What's the deal with that?
Poor Sammy! (And you!)
A facebook break never does what one hopes it will do. This I know.
Samara is getting older and fear is learned so as she grows, so will her fear. It's natural.
And, I do not know why other mothers don't tell you why Presley has spit.....spitten.....spat up. That's just rude.
When, not why. We all know why she spits up. She's a baby....duh.
Ouch on the burn! How many naps does Samara take? We have ours in bed at 7:30 or 8 at the latest. I tell them it doesn't matter how dark it is, the clock says it is bedtime.
If you were with moms then they definitely should have said something. I know I had people tell me when my three spit up, it's a nice notice so you can clean you and or the baby up.
Poor Samara! That is awful!
Alice is starting to cut out the nap. Usually it is maybe 20 minutes. She sleeps for 13+ at night.
Wow! They should have said something about the spit up!
Missed you and your beautiful girls!
No one is telling you Presley spit up because they are thrilled it happens to other moms/babies!
And poor Samara. I bet you both cried lots!!
Poor S- rough week! W is increasingly scared of things too- maybe it's the age?
T's birthclub has gone to facebook too. It was too hard to stay away- getting notified every time there was a new post. So.... I cut myself off from that group. Its too bad cuz I'd like to stay in touch with some but it was just taking up too much time. Now I'm an outsider because I rarely visit. Ah well! My kids are more important too!
I've gotten paint on myself twice at playgroup- and no one has told me! I don't know what the deal is, I'd tell someone.
The thought of no nap makes me want to vomit... I hope you find a solution that keeps the afternoon nap!! haha
Poor Sammmy, poor you. That just sucks.
I go through phases where I have to cut myself off from Facebook, although lately, it's been pretty easy to cut myself off from just about everything... you know, just because :)
