Friday Night Leftovers
- Last week and this week Shawn has had off from work. It's been SO great. I never want him to go back to work. But I really enjoy living in a nice house and having nice things so I guess come Monday, back to work he goes. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage both girls on my own again!
- I took the opportunity of having extra hands at home to get some dental work done that I'd been putting off. I got my wisdom teeth out on Wednesday. Is it bad that even though it was dental surgery, that it was also a break? You know you need to get out more when having extractions means a good time away from your kids.
- We all have summer colds. Why do summer colds seem so much worse than winter ones?
- Does anyone else have hair envy? I've been growing out my hair for years. I never get anything more than a trim. But it never fails that when I see or hear of someone getting a new short cut that I want to do the same. Even though I look awful with short hair and almost cry when I get trims because I feel my hair is too short.
- We went to the annual Dragon Boat Festival a couple of weeks ago. There was a band playing with a dance floor set up. I suspect we are going to have our hands full in the future...Sammy was dancing up a storm and wouldn't stop making eyes at the bass player.

I'm totally the same I look stupid with short hair and yet I want it so bad. Same thing with straight hair. I would trade my curls in in a heartbeat!

i still think you look good with short hair... its just not what you're used to. last time you cut it short i LOVED it.

This is my theory on hair. As long as you have a great cut it doesn't matter if it's long or short. Seriously, it's true. Anyone can rock the short cut as long as it's the RIGHT short cut. And long hair can be just as hideous if it isn't cut right and maintained. But I can guarantee that if you cut it all off you'd just grow it out again anyway. Some people are just meant for long hair. Hair envy is normal. We all have it.
And......canadianmama, shame on you for wanting to trade in your curls.
Shame.

I have total hair envy. I haven't had short hair since I was in HS and I had boy short hair. I also have hair envy of people with nice straight hair and not the thick curly mop I've got.
Summer colds are the worst - not sure if it's the heat or what.
I wish my hair grew fast enough to be able to chop it and know it'd grow right back out. I see cute short cuts and think I'd like it...but know it'd never work for my hair or face. So, I still with long hair.

So funny you mention hair envy. Mine is finally getting longer and I'm thinking of cutting it again. This is despite the fact that every time I cut it, I make sure to tell someone to never let me do it again. I can't win.

I know what you mean about having your hands full in the future. My 5 yr old can already come up with lines that make you melt.
I love having the hubby home for an extended time and wish we could both stay home and make money without actually having to "work."
Yep, I have total hair envy. I want mine long again, so I'm constantly fighting the urge to shorten it.
