Gather your supplies. You can put pretty much anything in them. Marshmallows, chopped up chocolate bars, chocolate chips, fudge sauce, M&Ms, caramel sauce, nuts...basically whatever you're feeling like at the time.
Cut a slit in the peel and open the banana.
Scoop out half the contents of the banana. Eat it. It's the healthy and guilt free part of this dessert!
You're left with the perfect space to cram your goodies in.
Stuff as many or as little treats as you want. Clearly I favor the "many" approach.
Pull the peel back over the banana to close your "boat" and pin shut with toothpicks. Looks like a boat, right?
Barbecue or heat over a campfire until outside is charred and contents are melted.
Open and enjoy!
A spoon is not always necessary!
What are your favorite fillings in a banana boat?

Wow. I have never had a banana boat before, but I think I would like to try putting skittles and marshmallows in it. Is that too weird? I don't care so much for the chocolate, but I love the candy. Sour patch kids maybe? would they even WORK in a Banana Boat?
ooohh your banana boats are different than my banana boats. i think i would make a HUGE mess trying to do it your way. i need the foil to contain my overstuffed ridiculous bananas.
yours look neat.
Yummy! I love marshmallows and any type of chocolate in mine. I haven't had one in years; I'll have to make sure I have one before the end of the summer!
OH MY. Starting the campfire now, ya, it's 2:30 in the afternoon -but we'll need the time to get off the sugar rush before bed. Mmmmmm......
Nope, that was not what I thought it was. This looks delicious!
I've never heard of this either! But yum, yum, yum! Chocolate, chocolate, maybe some peanut butter chocolate candy? Oh, now I am really jealous!
I just gained 10lbs reading that and i'm SO excited to gain another 10 actually trying it! Love Sammy's way of eating :)
Your method is different than how we do it! We use foil on the outside and I don't scoop out any of the babana first, just make a single slit on the peel and banana and shove the goodies in between the the middle of the banana. Does that make sense?
