Friday Night Leftovers
- Thank you for the anniversary wishes. We did nothing special or out of the ordinary. Are we lame? No, we just have 2 kids 2 and under and no babysitter.
- Yesterday Samara stuck a raisin up her nose and I very nearly wasn't able to get it out myself. What is it with kids sticking things up their noses? What is so irresistible about it? Licking a frozen flagpole, I understand. Foreign objects up noses, I don't.
- Speaking of frozen flagpoles, have you ever licked one to see if your tongue will stick? Up here in Canada, I'm not sure I know of anyone who hasn't.
- I talked last week about being extremely conscious about car seat safety. Another thing to add to the list? Bike helmets. I see so many kids not wearing them while they ride their bikes. And, not wearing them while their parents pull them in a bike trailer. I admit that I didn't use to wear a helmet. I was too cool for that. As soon as we had kids? I got an egghead and I proudly wear it every time I ride my bike to model good behavior for my girls.
- I have been obsessed with chocolate this week. I haven't eaten it in a couple of weeks and visions of milk chocolate, brownies, chocolate cake and fudge are dancing through my head pretty much every waking hour.
- Check out the host of leftovers here.

My brother totally got a pea stuck up his nose when he was a kid. every time he breathed my mom could see a little green orb popping out, going in, popping out, etc. of his nose.
I also have never, ever tried to lick a frozen inedible object.
I couldn't help but laugh picturing you digging a raisin out of Sammy's nose!
Hubby once convinced his brother to have a contest seeing who could shove more rocks up their noses. Not sure who won but the doctor handed them a tissue and said "Blow" to get them all out!
OMG, what a horrible friend I am. I totally didn't say Happy Anniversary. I suck. How was your dinner? Did sammy go to her friends place while you got ready?
Also, a raisin!? OMG!!!! That would terrify me.
i have never stuffed anything up my nose... or licked a frozen pole... i think i missed out on child hood. LOL!
glad you got the raisin out though :)
A Christmas Story, complete with flag pole licking, is one of my favorite movies.
And, I don't know what it is with the sticking things up the nose, although Bean almost got a seashell stuck in her ear during vacation (she was "listening to the ocean")
stopping by from FNL, happy late anniversary! So...did your tongue stick to the flagpole???You left me hanging :)
I have only had one of them stick something up their nose (the smallest doll shoe imaginable). I think my freak out has scarred them all from ever doing it again.
Anniversary dinners aren't always possible once you have kids. The only way we have a babysitter is if we are visiting family, so maybe a couple times a year.
We do a summer safety lesson at the end of every year, and it is beyond disturbing how many of our students admit to not wearing helmets. I've come close to making Logan wear one on his rocking horse (just kidding, I think!;)
When I was 6 I licked our frozen blue swing set. when I pulled my tongue off I was shocked to see the mark left on the swing was red. I though it was so cool, I did it again.
6 year olds are stupid.
I hear you on the safety things. I used to do ridiculously dangerous things but I actually told a friend of mine the other day, ' i have a child i can't get hurt"
