Sugar Junkies Update

3 weeks ago, we decided to do this. No ice cream, brownies, cookies, candy, chocolate, cupcakes...no fun. It was HARD. I would say it took me about 12 days to finally feel okay with not having dessert after every meal. The cravings were intense. We pushed through though and did it for 21 days. How did we reward ourselves?

Man, oh man, were they good. On the left we have cheesecake ice cream with bits of Reese Peanut Butter Cups in a dark chocolate and Skor dipped waffle cone. On the right we have swiss chocolate ice cream with bits of Peppermint Patty in a dark chocolate dipped waffle cone. Probably an entire day's calories wrapped up in one tasty ice cream cone. In our defense, we rode our bikes for 2 hours to get there and back.

What does this mean? We're back into it? Well, yes...kind of. Our hope is to just have a treat once a week (Saturdays). We'll see how it goes...Link

So did you notice any health benefits from it? Did you sleep any better? Feel any better?

You are better than I will ever be. I don't necessarily eat the super sugary treats, I try to make healthier desserts or lower calorie choices, but I couldn't give it all up not even for a week. Hahha!

Both icecream choices sound delish!

I find that what works for us is just not having any treats in the house. If we want something sweet, we have to go get it, which makes us go out and we usually couple the trip with an activity.

hmmmm...I would like to say you are inspiring me to give it a try or cut down a little bit. But I can't say that is true. hehehe! although I did think of you as I scooped a small serving of mint chip brownie ice cream last night. Your arms look REALLY skinny in that picture.
