Well?

What do you do when your beautiful 2 year old decides she wants to wear duck slippers instead of shoes to the library? What do you do when the same girl likes to "match" red and pink together? What do you do when said girl decides she doesn't want to wear her shoes halfway through a walk in the neighborhood?

Well? I'd love to hear from you!

Me? I let her. Yeah, it's slightly embarrassing. But, it's not hurting anyone so I figure why fight it?!

I'd let her too. There are some battles not worth fighting.

My 2nd kid refused to keep his boots on in the van all winter when he was 2. I was so sick to death of the fight every time I had to take him out. It was ridiculous how he'd carry on when I opened the van door to get him and forced he boots back on his feet. So one day I made him walk from the van to the house in the snow. He never took his boots off again.

Don't you love it when I share my awesome parenting wisdom with you?

I was the mom with the very cute three year old in Shoppers Drug Mart that was wearing a giant blue oven mit on his hand. It was lovingly called "dinosaur arm" and was "eating" all the soap and pens in line beside the post office. I thought it was adorable. It's pretty funny the outfits that get worn grocery shopping some days. I draw the line when the 2 and 4 year olds pick out MY outift. Because pink pajama pants, an old tigger t-shirt and black heels is a sure way to land me on What not To Wear.

I'd be the one with the adorable two year old laying down on the floor in front of the cart in Zellers while he screams about buying Monkey Food - I told him earlier he was our pet monkey and when we bought puppy food we would need to buy monkey food for him. He wouldn't let it go...all day.

Those are the kinds of things you can't get away with as adult so why not let her do it now! And I'm sure you're right, it's probably not worth the fight. :)

Oh I most definitely do not fight these battles! Plus, I always think it's adorable when I see a little one about 2 or 3 walking around a store in a bathing suit, tutu, and slippers, and know she just HAD to wear that! Logan's not quite there yet, but I know its coming!

There are plenty of other battles to fight, right?

I'm sure she looked adorable.

What about when she goes to school? Will you let her wear as she pleases? I'm just curious.

I let A pick out her outfit for the most part. She chooses the shirt and sometimes I have to help her find pants. With school they prefer tennis shoes and I always let her pick those out. She doesn't do funky outfits, more all the same colors. If it is pink everything needs to be pink no matter what shade it is.

Maddy doesn't care about what she's wearing, other than shoes. I do make her keep her shoes on at the park and walking because of glass/pointy stuff, but other than that, I say let them do what they want!

So, I was pretty sad about not having a girl BUT, this is one thing I like about boys. The don't care AT ALL! About what I dress them in! They put it on and smile! Although if it's got a bulldozer, motorcycle or something else cool on it they get dressed faster and don't waste as much time!!

BUT, if I had a girl I would never let her dress herself; image is everything! No,just kidding - I don't have that kind of energy. I'd let her look a mess!

But, could you post some pictures please! I would love to see these kinds of outfits!!

We've spent the past five and a half years with all sorts of maddening attire. I just shake my head and shrug (including today).
