These have been on my mind since December rolled around. I've been tossing ideas back and forth and trying to figure out things that will be challenging but attainable...and things where success is measurable.
- live generously. I want to donate my time by volunteering. I'm not sure what yet but I'm researching some ideas. I want to donate blood often. I got a head start on this goal December 31. It was quick and easy. What other thing can you do so easily that saves other peoples' lives? I want to donate what I can. I got this fabulous idea from my mom. Every time you get groceries, pick up an item for the food bank and drop it off at the box at the front of the store on your way out. Though we are on a tight budget, we can certainly spare enough for this small act.
- gain 5 pounds. Not by eating ridiculously bad (but oh so good!) but by upping my protein and continuing with good workouts to generate more muscle mass.
- work on my photography skills. This is such an abstract goal that to make it more specific, I'm going to pick up the camera every single day and shoot something...anything. I'm also going to take at least one photography class.
- game night. Last year we failed on our goal to have a regular date night. I know that if I made the same goal, we'd fail again. We don't have family here, we don't have a regular babysitter and couldn't afford to go out AND pay a babysitter regularly anyhow. So, instead, we've decided Sunday night is game night. We've already started and it's great. We alternate weeks for who gets to choose the game. We chat, laugh, catch up...no TV, no video games, no laptop, no books, just us. It's good. We'll eventually include the girls when they're a bit older.
- me time. I failed on this last year and hope to accomplish it this year...whether it be a running clinic, photography class, sewing class, etc. Something where I leave the house and do something semi-regularly.
Are you a goal setter? What goals have you made for 2012?

I love reading other's goals. This is the first year I've really set some. I actually set quite a few this year. Similar categories. health, hobbies, and focusing on my family. Hope you have a great 2012!
Since I haven't written my goals down anywhere else, I might as well do it here!
1. Run 4 races
2. Complete at least one scrapbook page a week.
3. Let go of Maddy's baby stuff
4. Follow a year-long declutter plan
5. Spend less time on the computer, especially in the evenings.
6. Spend time outside every day.
I've been absolutely loving the card making class that I've been doing every week. It's only 30 minutes and $2/week so it's just enough to unwind, make something fun and learn a new technique without costing a ton or being too much of a commitment. I can't recommend it enough!
great goals.
still woroking on my htoughts for the new years. my fingers are cold from walking to get charley so forgive my typos.
Game night = awesome.
I don't write down my goals, but they are always in my head as a constant reminder.
I love your game night idea. Hubby and I are in the same boat with not having the option or budget to go out for a date, but finding time to step away from everything and do something fun would be great.
My kids are in love with games, we have to play some every.single.day.
Game night sounds like so much fun. That is definitely something we should incorporate into our lives.
I your goals are awesome and attainable. I'm going to do the food drop at the grocery store, too, such an easy thing to do!
Good luck this year. :)
Addendum to Goals:
Take Samara, Presley, Daddy, & Mommy to Memphis for chocolate....sometime 2012.
