Picnic Fun
A few weeks ago, I decided to liven up our lunch by having it on the floor of the living room, picnic style. I never guessed how much they'd love an indoor picnic. It was such a hit and Samara talked about it for days afterwards. Now I try to do it at least once a week. It just proves that it's the small things that mean the most to our kids. What little things excite your kids?

Way to go mom-wintering picnicing
Me and Hadley do this often, too. I remember when I was little my mom used to do this and it was my fav.
Mine, too, love when we let them eat in the living room or toy room.
is that a cup of milk sitting by S's feet. GEEZ! You seriously get a GOLD STAR for mama of the day or century or something for allowing that. haha. We do this too. And sometimes I let them watch a cartoon and that is a REALLY big treat. Is P eating full sandwiches like that. Syd just started doing toast cut in fourths. I have been thinking about grilled cheese for her.
We do it too but usually on Friday nights when we don't eat out I will make pizza and we have a picnic on the floor while we watch a bit of a movie. Both the boys LOVE it! But the baby sits in a high chair (we have a portable one so I just plunk it on the floor) because there is NO way he would sit all nicely like Presley does!! AND there is absolutely NO way he would not throw all his food on the floor (he's so rude)
Picnics on the floor are one of my best memories from my grandma's house as a little girl! Now, we just need a really big blanket for the new carpet so we can do it here!
