Goals for 2013

  • Meatless dinners twice a week. I think this will really make me find some new recipes.
  • Take the girls outside every day.  They go outside most days.  But, when it's really cold or really windy, I get lazy, I admit it!  I think everyone benefits from fresh air and being outside every day though, despite the weather.
  • Less time online.  I don't even want to admit how much time I spend online and on my phone.  It's shameful.  So, I vow to change.  First up is no internet browsing on my phone.  Second change is removing all Facebook notifications from getting to my email inbox and phone.  I want to live in the moment.
  • No prepackaged treats (store bought cookies, cakes, donuts, processed snack cakes, etc.). These things do not taste good to me...and yet if they're in front of me, I eat them faster than anyone.  I love fresh baking so when it's time for me to have a treat, that's the kind of treat I want to enjoy.
  • Run a half marathon. I got there last year and didn't run an actual race.  I hope this is my year.
  • 1 major goal per month. First up - no sugar, treats, junk, etc. in January.
Do you have any goals/resolutions for 2013?

You read mine already! I will admit that the one good thing about not having a smartphone is I can't easily get to the internet, it's a lot more effort to get out my laptop, so it tends to wait until night or naps. But, I still spend too much time on it even then. There was a time without it, right? But, there's good things, like connecting with other moms. Balance, like with everything else I guess - hard!

I love reading about your goals and I live vicariously through your (usually good) follow through! Makes me wish I had better will power to do things like this!

Great goals! M and I just reviewed ours from last year and set some for this year (we do ones for ourselves and our relationship , financial goals, career goals and some for the kids). If you are looking for a meatless recipe check out this one: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/10/26/super-healthy-lentil-sloppy-joes/

Sounds weird but honestly it's spot on. All four of us loved it!
